Jo Morey (Rose Dione), who lives in the St. Lawrence River Valley, inherits her father's barren farm and devotes her entire energies to cultivating it and caring for her invalid sister. Jo’s sweetheart (George A. McDaniel) refuses to wait for her and instead marries someone else. He then abandons the new couple’s baby on Jo’s doorstep, and she raises the girl as her own.
This film was shot partially on location in Truckee, California.
